In the indigenous language “Nahuatl”, Ometepe means: “Born from two volcanoes”. Ometepe, the biggest volcanic island in the world in fresh-water, is well known for indigenous legends, culture and traditions.
During our stay on Ometepe between its two volcanic guards, Concepción (1,610 mts) and Maderas (1,345 mts), we will be part of the tranquil life of the island. A journey through the island will give us the opportunity to get immersed in the daily life of the locals, enjoying the surroundings of the tropical dry forest, a refreshing swim in the lake or just relaxing by the beach in one of the numerous hammocks. Also, a half-day hike to the Maderas countryside at Finca Santa Magdalena will be part of our program.
